Whether your pet requires routine surgery or surgery as the result of an injury, our team at Close Vet Clinic is committed to providing you with the best in surgical services and veterinary care.

Our team is highly skilled and all of our veterinarians are members of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and the College of Veterinarians of Ontario. We are trained in a wide range of surgical procedures, so you can feel good about putting your pet’s health in our hands.

Surgical procedures include:

Neutering and spaying for dogs and cats

Soft tissue surgeries including head, neck and upper airway surgery

Orthopedic surgery (bone and joint) including knee surgeries

Three Steps of Successful Surgery:

1. Prior to Surgery our veterinary team verifies the specifics of the procedure, completes a physical exam of your pet and ensures blood tests have been completed, documented, and reviewed. All pre-surgery steps vary depending on the type of procedure being performed, and whether or not the surgery is emergency or planned. Among other things, these precautions help determine if your pet is at risk for complications while under general anesthesia. We do everything possible to ensure the safety of every one of our patients. The goal is to keep your companion as comfortable and pain-free as possible

2. During Surgery, our care team will be present to assist with all operations and monitor your pet’s well-being throughout the process. We use the most modern equipment and techniques and always follow the strictest standards of safety and care. What does this mean for your pet? Simple. It means that your companion is in excellent hands with our surgical team.

3. Post-Surgery, our focus is on patient safety, pain management, and positive results. In most cases, surgical patients are able to return home on the day of their procedure. To prepare you, we demonstrate exceptional care to ensure a safe and complete recovery for your pet. We will also address any questions or concerns you may have about the surgery, including concerns about anesthesia, pain, or postoperative care.
