World Vets Trip – 2024

Oct 24, 2022 | Behavioural, Cats, Dogs, Pet Tips, Surgical, Wellness

At Close Veterinary Clinic we are planning a volunteer trip through World Vets with the goal of traveling in Winter of 2024. In order for us to reach our fundraising goal we need all the help we can get!

What is World Vets?

World Vets is an international veterinary aid organization that hosts volunteer programs in over 45 different countries. The main goal of World Vets is to provide veterinary services and care to the underserved areas of the world and to also provide care in emergency situations such as natural disaster response. World Vets also provides training and education programs which assist in improving global animal welfare and animal care.

The volunteer team for World Vets consists of people with a wide range of skills and experience. Volunteers are typically veterinarians, technicians, students in veterinary science and simply lovers of animals. The main requirement to volunteer is to have a passion for animal welfare and a desire to improve the lives of animals to make a difference in the world.

Please see the link provided for more information on World Vets and their mission statement: https://worldvets.org/overview/

How can you help us reach our goal?

Due to the expense of volunteering abroad we have multiple fundraisers in place to help us raise money. Our current goal is to raise $10 000 to send 3 employees to volunteer abroad. The location of volunteering is still undecided although we plan to work exclusively with companion animals.

Of our $10 000 goal we have raised about $2500 so far.

If you would like to help us raise money we complete nail trims at a minimum donation cost of $5 every third Wednesday of the month. We also are selling clinic calendars for 2023 that can be purchased for $30 at the reception desk. All proceeds go towards our trip with World Vets. In addition, we also have a GoFundMe page where donations are accepted.

More fundraiser ideas are currently in the works. We will keep you posted on our social media!

Your help and support is always greatly appreciated! We would not be able to go on this trip without the amazing help of our lovely clients and community members!

If you have any questions about the World Vets fundraiser or trip please contact the clinic at 519-893-8937 and we would be more than happy to answer any of your inquiries.
