Caring For Each Other and Our Pets

Nov 6, 2015 | Cats, Pet Care, Pet Safety, Pet Tips

Close Vet Clinic is dedicated to all animals in the community. That’s why we want to bring the Trap, Neuter and Return program to this area.

The Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) program is aimed at reducing the feral cat population in a more humane way than putting them down.

By neutering the cats, we can prevent them from reproducing and adding to the population. Releasing the cats stops another cat from filling the space and manages the population.

Our goal is to increase community awareness of this program, but we also need support from the local government. Dr. Close is working with a group of people in the community who are trying to bring the program to the Kitchener-Waterloo area.

Toronto has a similar program, and Dr. Close recently visited them to see how their program is running.

Our hope is that every vet in the community can do three procedures a month, and we need the support of more vets to get the program off the ground.

By doing this, we can develop a society that cares about each other and our animals.
